INPUT: Council wants community feedback and ideas into how to improve Stevenson Park in Mayfield West.

Stevenson Park in Mayfield West is set for a make-over and council is offering sporting groups and the community a chance to participate in updating the park's masterplan.

I encourage park users to play a part in the future design of Stevenson Park through workshops, open park drop-in sessions, our survey and online interactive tools.

In addition to the recreation precinct masterplan, council will develop a new playground concept plan, and we are keen to hear everyone's feedback and ideas. Our aim is to use the recreation precinct to meet the changing needs of residents, sporting clubs and the community.

Mayfield West residents have championed this project and are integral to building our collective vision.

Council will host an on-site community park design workshop at the Stevenson Park softball clubhouse on Monday 28 May from 5.30-7.30pm, and we encourage everyone to attend.

Register your attendance on our 'Have Your Say' web page at newcastle.nsw.gov.au or provide your feedback online. Our online survey is open for comment until May 30.

You can also have your say on our draft Newcastle 2030 Community Strategic Plan (CSP), a shared community vision that will inform Council's policies and actions over the next 10 years.

You can review the draft plan on Council's website until May 30.
